San Diego Destinations
San Diego County — aka the “Capital of Craft” — is home to 180+ craft beer facilities cranking out endless SD-themed brews.
While every neighborhood has its beloved breweries, today let’s tap into the sudsy scene in Miramar, the industrial area between Interstate 805 and Interstate 15. With top-notch taprooms at every turn, locals affectionately refer to the area as “Beeramar” — don’t miss these stops.

Brewing since 1995, AleSmith is a true O.G. of Beeramar and the San Diego craft brewing scene. The taproom’s beer list includes its SDSU State Ale and Session .394 dedicated to Tony Gwynn. The special events here are toast-worthy, too.
White Labs began with home brewers searching for high quality yeast, and continues to be all about fermentation science and education. To date, the yeast wholesaler-turned-brewery has brewed 42 beer styles using 96 yeast strains. Visit Tuesday-Sunday.
The locally-grown but globally-known runs its largest restaurant and brewery in Miramar. Boasting an extensive tap list, it’s open daily.
The Miramar location usually offers more than a dozen taps — you can even check out kegs here. It’s open daily.
Embolden pays homage to the history of San Diego beer through its brews and hard sparkling teas. Try the Litehouse Blond Ale and the Beyond Borders Baja Lager. It’s open Wednesday-Sunday.
Check out the organic offerings at this US veteran-owned brewery like the SD West Coast Style IPA and SD Hazy IPA. It’s open Wednesday-Saturday.
Pure’s original taproom features 16+ taps and laid-back vibes — and it’s often where new releases are first tapped. It’s open daily.
